Overview of different battery technologies

There is a suitable battery technology for every cleaning machine. We will be happy to advise you on your solution.

Gel Deep Cycle:
The special feature of gel batteries is that the liquid electrolyte is bound in a gel through the addition of silicic acid. They are maintenance-free, so no water needs to be topped up.

TTB Tubular (wet batteries):
With armoured plate technology, the lead plates have a larger surface area, which results in higher performance.

Semi-traction battery:
Semi-traction batteries are low-maintenance lead-acid batteries. Their advantage is the good price-performance ratio.

Which battery does my car need?

Depending on the vehicle, the requirements for a starter battery vary greatly. different. To create a Permanent power supply to ensure that the Number of electrical consumers in the car be taken into account.

How do I find the right battery for my car?

Before you buy a vehicle battery, make sure that the dimensions of the new battery must match those of the old car battery.
Measure if necessary. with a folding rule LengthWidth and Height to.

Please note absolutely the arrangement of the connection poles. Positive terminal on the right or positive terminal on the left. It should be ensured that the new starter battery fits into the vehicle.

How do I charge my car battery?

With the right and regular maintenance and Care the service life of a car battery can be positively influenced so that it worked perfectly for many years.

Please note the following:
When driving short distances the battery is not supplied with sufficient operating current (from the alternator) from the vehicle. As a result, the battery is not sufficiently recharged and loses capacity. If you often only drive short distances with your vehicle, it is advisable to regularly connect the starter battery to a charger and charge it in between.

How long will my car battery last?

Under optimal conditions of use, the Life expectancy of approx. six years. A lot of short journeys, long idle times and increased use of e.g. seat heating, music system or lights have a negative impact on the service life. Many batteries last significantly longer under normal use.

What is a liquid acid starter battery?

The batteries with the Lead-acid technology are Maintenance-free and are used in cars with simple basic equipment used.

What is an AGM starter battery?

AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) is used for vehicles of the upper middle class and Premium vehicles. These vehicles have automatic start-stop systems (with brake energy recovery), sophisticated accessories and state-of-the-art equipment. Starter batteries with AGM technology are installed in these cars ex works, so we recommend using an AGM battery when replacing them. If a battery with other technology is installed, this can lead to failure of the automatic start-stop system and comfort functions.

What is an EFB starter battery?

EFB batteries have been specially developed for vehicles with demanding driving behaviour. These are cars with simple automatic start-stop systems (without brake energy recovery)and models without automatic start-stop that are mainly used in city traffic. These maintenance-free EFB batteries are also often used in cars with many electrical consumers such as seat heating, multimedia and navigation systems.

What capacity do I need for my vehicle?

The basic guideline is Capacity of the previously installed (old) battery. However, the capacity values can be slightly (+/- 10%) deviate. If you drive a lot of short distances, choose a lower capacity as the alternator has less time to fully recharge the battery. For example, 70Ah can be installed in your car instead of 77Ah if the dimensions are suitable.

What does EN CCA cold test current/star current mean?

The cold test current is the current with which the starter battery is charged at -18°C can be loaded before the battery voltage falls below a specified final discharge voltage after a specified discharge time.

The cold start current (also known as cold test current) is the decisive factor for good starting ability. It is the amount of current that a battery can deliver at -17.8 °C for 30 seconds until the battery voltage falls below an unusable level.

How do I connect a starter battery?

Before replacing the vehicle battery, be sure to switch off the motor.
Make a note of the arrangement of the connection poles around a Reverse polarity to be avoided.

Follow the instructions of the vehicle manufacturer to install the new battery.
Avoid direct contact with battery acid. Protect your hands with gloves, your eyes
with safety goggles and wear old clothes when replacing the battery.
First disconnect the earth cable (negative cable, usually black or blue) to avoid a short circuit.
Then disconnect the positive cable (usually red).
Check the battery compartment for damage and repair it if necessary.
Remove dirt from the pole terminal. Dirt can lead to increased contact resistance.
This can lead to premature battery failure. To prevent damage due to oxidation or sulphate formation and acid corrosion at the battery terminals, also use battery grease.
Ensure that the pole terminals are firmly seated to avoid contact interruptions.
Use a torque spanner to tighten the locks. The correct torque can be found in the vehicle manual. First connect the positive cable (red) to the positive terminal of the battery, then connect the earth cable. Check the correct pole arrangement beforehand.
