The prices for Lead batteries are subject to strong fluctuations. These fluctuations are only natural, as the purchase price is dependent on the US dollar exchange rate and the global market price for lead.
Fixed prices for rechargeable batteries are therefore only possible if the retailer has included very large safety buffers in his calculations to absorb rising commodity prices. At the same time, falling commodity prices increase the retailer's profit margins with a constant price concept.
The fairest pricing concept is therefore a price structure that is regularly orientated to the fluctuations in the world market for the US dollar and for lead. A falling lead price and a strengthening euro must result in falling purchase prices for you and vice versa.

The battery acid is fixed in both cases. This means that in the gel battery, the battery acid is thickened by the addition of silica. This gives it a gel-like consistency.
In an AGM battery, the battery acid is absorbed by a glass fibre mat. AGM stands for "Absorbent Glass Mat", i.e. the acid is absorbed by a glass fibre mat.
Both battery types can therefore be operated regardless of their position, i.e. no acid leaks out, even if the batteries are laid on their side.
People often ask which battery type is better? There is no general answer to this question because it always depends on the application and the requirements. Both types have different strengths and weaknesses.
