We are pleased to be able to report on a project that was realised in cooperation with a leading construction and project developer in the residential construction sector. The construction of a 20-storey residential tower block in Berlin was a captivating project for our client Bonava. With a height of almost 60 metres and nearly 200 residential units, it marked the first work of this size for the company.

Our task required us to take into account complex building regulations and ensure a reliable power supply in the event of power failures. Working closely with Bonava, our experts presented an innovative solution to overcome the problem of grid failure safety. We supported the entire process, from the initial project planning and detailed technical planning through to successful acceptance by the inspection expert. In consultation with Bonava, we opted for a static emergency power system with an output of 80 kVA to guarantee the supply of power to the safety-relevant consumers in the tower block.

Advantages of static emergency power systems:

The space saving compared to conventional diesel generators is considerable. The static emergency power system enables efficient use of space and minimises potential environmental impact in the building.

An outstanding feature is the flexibility of the system. The possibility of retrofitting facilitates future modernisation of the power supply without major structural changes.

Another significant advantage is the low noise level compared to diesel generators. During power failures, the residents of the tower block can enjoy a quiet and pleasant environment without being affected by annoying noise.

Successful integration: Reliable power supply in high-rise apartment block thanks to battery-backed emergency power system

Thanks to the close cooperation with Bonava, we were able to successfully integrate an 80 kVA battery-powered emergency power system into the residential tower block. Acceptance by the test expert went smoothly and the implementation enables Bonava to guarantee a reliable power supply solution for the entire building in the event of a power failure.
