Hamburg - Björn vom Hofe left the family office bank Marcard, Stein & Co AG as Head of Investment Management & Middle Office at the end of February and is now Managing Director and co-founder of Aequisol. The company focusses on networking electricity users with investors. Aequisol sees great potential in the utilisation of commercial real estate for power generation with photovoltaic systems.
Since mid-2019, vom Hofe had driven the expansion of the private equity programme and led projects to digitalise and increase efficiency. Prior to this, he had helped set up a single family office in Hamburg and worked in M&A and transaction consulting for over ten years. The 43-year-old left the multi-family office at his own request to pursue entrepreneurial activities at Aequisol.
Aequisol is created in close co-operation with the managing partners of AKKU SYS Akkumulator- und Batterietechnik Nord GmbH, a wholesaler for energy-related products with an annual turnover of over 180 million euros for the Group in 2022. "We are delighted to have found a partner from the financial sector for our rapidly growing business in vom Hofe," says Joachim Koop, Managing Director of AKKU SYS and co-founder. "With Aequisol, we offer solutions that harmonise the ongoing demand for investment opportunities and the capital requirements of the energy transition," says vom Hofe.
